My name is Veriria, thanks for visiting my website! What would happen if a rather sedentary person finally got enough motivation to actually work out? Well, you'll find out here! I'm conducting a 30-day experiment to see how exercising approximately 8 minutes a day and eating slightly more healthy than I'm used to will effect me at the start of the new month. I'm using a book titled 28 Day Fitness Program by Thorsten Tchirner, because I know next to nothing about creating an exercise plan. Care to follow my progress? Monday, April 30th

XD


So I got a new haircut a few days ago. Maybe I'll have my sister, Charlotte, take a picture -- since she certainly takes enough of herself, haha! Its sort of like how my hair used to be...But not. I can't explain it.

But it apparently makes me look 33 years old A lady working the register at the local grocery store thought I was someone else she previously carded who looked younger than her 33 years of age *laughs*

Also...Random people at stores are talking to me. Some lady thought I was a hairdresser, because of my hair, and tried to ask me questions on dying her hair. Also another lady asked if I needed a door held open for me because I had a ton of crap in my hands. Bur? I never got treated that way before (its not bad, just...different).

I'm going to try to stop biting my nails for 30 days. Strange how that is sooo much more hard than begining to work out and exercise and all that crap!

I work tomorrow again. I wonder if they are still shooting scenes for the up-coming Batman movie next to the Amtrak building XD

Wednesday, April 25th

Stuff


Well, its been an interesting few weeks. I haven't worked out -- after my 30 days, I intended on taking just a few days off it...But never restarted it XD So I think on the 1st -- sort of make it official-like -- I'll start my workout program again. And I'm also hoping Zero's mom/stepdad/whoever helps him get that frige over here too, so we can both start eating healthier *wink wink, nudge nudge haha*.

I should have been going to work today, but I get extra days off since I had to go to an Amtrak class on my only two days off. Pretty much 8 hour days, just re-learning stuff we already know. I was rather surprised they actually added in "customer service" stuff, since it wasn't at the last few Block training classes I've attended. Heaven knows some of my co-workers really need it!

I also got a new run at work -- and it is WORK! Chicago to Detroit, quite a busy train. And very few people complained about the pricess Whoo! lol.

I got to see the filming of part of the new Batman movie when I went to that class out in Chicago a few days ago. Part of the old Post Office on Canal Street was turned into "Gotham National Bank" and had a school bus sticking out of part of the wall extension built onto the building. My hopes of becoming a walk-on extra were shattered though, when the actual building caught on fire :] Oh wells. Lots of smoke and such covered the area (and keep in mind this was when we were actually in the building where our class was) and two of the ladies in my class had athsma attacks -- the building we had our Amtrak class in was right across the street from the Post Office building.

Tuesday, April 10th

28th Day


Its been a few days since I updated, and for anyone actually following this little experiment of mine, I do apologize. I did in fact do my 28th day of exercise on time -- and completed the book. I have since given the book to my bf to try hehe.

28th day: biceps and triceps
Power Dips: 3 sets/10 reps (twice each, with either leg held up with only the other leg supporting...Yeah, this one was rough...But it felt good being able to do it)
Lunges with Curls: 3 sets/10 reps 3 lb weights
30 Crunches

This set was really good...Made me sweat! But I hurt nearly three days afterword, so I didn't exercise after that. Especially the insides of my thighs and my upper arms of course, it was like a full body workout. And then I went to work for three days...And on the second day, my train was cancelled going to Kansas City because there was a UP derailment. So I basically did a lot of reading when I was there (thank goodness I bring a lot of books to read on my trips...

I'll start another monthly exercise "experiment" perhaps on the 15th though, or at least whenever Zero gets a decent refrigerator razz I've read one of the "Abs Diet" books, and its not really a diet. I also read this "Clean Eating" book, and the authors of these books are of the same mind: nutritional eating without dieting. I mean it makes sense to me! lol. I'm going to do that once we have some place to store more than a few refrigerated items.

Tuesday, April 3rd

27th Day


Here it is, the 27th day workout. Just one day away from the "28 days" this book has set to be the last day of working out -- but I'm going for 30 of course.

Shoulders and waistline
Power Press (strong shoulders): 3 sets/10 reps (3 lb weights)
Static Power Pushups: 3 sets/4 reps (quite demanding!)
Leg/torso stretch
10 oblique crunches both sides, 20 crunches (both sides at same time)

After I was all woken up, exercised, and showered I went and bought food for me and Zero at Subway since he's working at the gun range today. I dont' know what it was, but after being there for about 10 minutes the skin on my left arm, then my right, followed by my shoulders and my knees (WEIRD!) became quite hot and soemwhat itchy. I think it was caused by something in the air there. Never had THAT happen before!

Monday, April 2nd

23, 24, 25, 26


So yes yes, I've been quite bad the last few days of not updating...I'm not sure if anyone is following my little experiment religously or anything, but I'm sorry if you were ^,^ I DID, however, do my exercises daily!

23 - Shoulders and waistline
Upright Rowing - 3 sets/15 reps 5 lb weight
Reverse Curls - 3 sets/15 reps
Shoulder pull stretch

24 - Biceps and triceps
Rotating Curls - 3 sets/15 reps 5 lb weight
Triceps Curls - 3 sets/10 reps 3 lb weight
30 crunches (both upper and lower crunches at the same time)
Bent-over chest and arms stretch

25 - Lets and butt
Squats - 2 sets/15 reps 3 lb weight
Bent Leg Hip Raise - 2 sets/15 reps
30 crunches (both upper and lower crunches at the same time)
Hip Flexor Extension

I helped my Zero totally re-organize his apartment this day. We still aren't done, but everything is moved around and there is more "space" than there previously was (well, in my opinion at any rate...). This is why I didn't do 3 sets of exercises big grin

26 (today) - Chest and back
Chest Pushups - 3 sets/15 reps used both 3 & 5 lb weight
Light knee bends with lateral rowing - 3 sets/5 lb weights
Chest twist stretch
30 crunches (both ways at the same time)
10 oblique crunches

I can't beleive that I'm almost done with a whole month of exercises! Towards the middle of the month, I was waking up earlier, but now I'm still sleeping in. I'm not sure if its because I'm staying up later or when I'm at Zero's, he's sleeping in later which causes me to sleep late as well...lawls...But I think I still have more energy than I previously did before this "experiment". Its not over yet -- and I'm sure I'm going to do another month of working out big grin

I'm also out of my apartment. !!! I'm so happy in that respect. On the other hand, I think my mom thinks I'm somehow going to magically "save" her financially. The problem is that I moved out of my apartment to SAVE ME money. Blaaah. Not give her more. I'm already going to be giving her $500 a month to help her out even though we originally settled on $200 (for glorified kitty motel as mom's house).

Now she's also talking about selling her house to make $$$ off of it...Which she probably could -- if she can actually SELL the place. But then what? She wants to move to another town or two over. And buy another house....She even went so far as to ask ME to get a mortgage for a house Oh hell no. Luckily she hasnt' even attempted asking that again. She also talked of getting an apartment out there. Then what? She can't have her dog, and I can't have my cats unless I get another place to live. Makes me rather pissy thats all.

By the way, a few days ago I went to McDonalds. What can I say, I was starving. BUUUT I got one of their little chicken taco snacker thingys. And a Diet Coke. I went in to buy it and got it for carry out, and left. Easy, no problems.

As I was walking to my car, someone in a tow truck screamed out of the passenger window "FATASSSS!"

I don't know if it was to me or intended for someone else...But no one else was in the parking lot XD I don't know him and am trying not to take it personally (especially when I've never had anyone say anything like that to me, well, never...) but I get mad that a total stranger would say that to ANYONE. Ahhhh well.

BTW I fit into size 8 jeans, and my stomach is more flat than it has ever been. I'm proud of myself big grin
