Days 20, 21, and 22
I haven't updated because well, I didn't take my laptop computer with me to work like I originally intended to Alas, I also did not do my workout yesterday...But that's OK. I feel sort of bad that I didn't do it, but yesterday I got home from work and was running on few hours of sleep (which is normal, as I work the 4:30am train out of St. Louis) and then pretty much fell asleep when I got to Zero's place. And woke up around 7pm, and quite hungry!
Anyways, on the 26th I did: Biceps, Triceps Reverse Curls: 3 sets/10 reps Synchronized Kick Backs: 3 sets/10 reps Body Stretch Crunches
27th: Legs & Butt One-Legged Knee Bends: 3 sets/10 reps (hard on balance!) Lateral Leg Lifts: 3 sets/10 reps Lying glutes stretch Crunches
28th - skipped that day unfortunetly
AND today was Chest & Back: Basic pushups -- could barely do full ones, so I did the sissy girly ones on my knees instead of feet. 3 sets/8 reps was about max each time One Armed Rowing: 3 sets/10 reps 3 lb. weight Crunches -- both ways at the same time. Yoga stretch

Working on new blog
Besides playing World of Warcraft last night with my Zero, I also worked a bit on the new blog. You can see what it will look like by going to the sample index page. I'll work on it more when I get home from work.

Day 19
I tried to post earlier:
"So yesterday me, Zero, one of David's buddies, mom, Charlie, and Michael (mom's 'boyfriend'), helped me move most of my furniture and other crap over to my moms place. I was excited! I also didn't do my exercises yesterday, figuring that I'd yanno, be helping to move crap. Well I really didn't :X Michael, Zero and Rob did most of it! Ah well. I did my exercises today (grudgingly...I didn't want to wake up this morning!) although since I'm updating from my moms house while waiting for her to return home, I'll edit this post later to show what I did They were abdominal and shoulder exercises though, I know that."
As far as my exercises go, I did shoulders and waistline.
Shoulder Press: 3 sets/10 reps (3 lb. weights) Side Hip Lifts: 3 sets/5 reps (HARD TO DO!!!) Shoulder Stretch 15 crunches & 15 reverse crunches (because of side hip lifts)
As stated in a previous post, I'll be switching to Blogger. This is due to the fact that I'd love people to be able to comment on my journal, but without having to worry about spam bots posting pr0n and other such idiotic crap in it. For right now I'm using Greymatter blogging software, but Blogger will come in a week or two, whenever I've gotten all my crap out of my apartment (I've moved out yays!).

Friday, March 23rd
17th and 18th days
Sorry I didn't update yesterday I was online, I just never got around to it. But I DID in fact do my exercises when I woke up!
17th Day -- Legs & Butt
Dumbbell Rear Lunges: 3 sets/10 reps -- 5lb weights Glutes Lift: 3 sets/15 reps 60 crunches Butt Stretch
18th Day (today) -- Chest & Back "Easy" Push-ups: 3 sets/10 reps "On hands and knees": 3 sets/10 reps 60 crunches Back Arch stretch
The push-ups are where you have the backs of your legs lifted off the floor, and do them from your knees. I can do 10 in a row though!!! I could only do, like, one or two before...XD Upon writing this I've only done two sets as well. Giving my writs a break, as they hurt a bit.
BTW, I also found a few more books similar to the one I've been using for this 30 day workout. I believe a lot of people don't work out or exercise, because well -- they don't know how to! Just like me. The book I found is titled "8 Minutes in the Morning" by Jorge Cruise and also a flashcard set I bought titled "30 day fat-burner workout" which I may use for the next 30 days as it includes both aerobic and strength training workouts for each day.

Sorry there folks, bit of a mixup but the website is OK again I may replace Greymatter with Blogger, seeing as how it has many more options and the ability to post comments much easier with less spam.

?
So I'm bored and can't sleep, and decided to look up other websites on the internet. I've tried finding personal websites & blogs from people who are doing the same thing as me with exercising and wanting to become more healthy...And I've found some, many in fact -- but most haven't been updated since the middle of '06 (or even earlier!!). WTF mate?
I've been hoping to find others in the same boat as me -- and no doubt there are I'm sure -- but it would be nice to exchange links with others who are trying to help/show others what they are DOING to get healthier and in shape, such as I am trying to do with my website. Rather, I don't know, disheartening in a way, yanno?
If anyone has one of these sorts of websites, or knows of any forums or anything else related, please post links in my forums or send me a mail! I'd appreciate it.

Do not be afraid of progressing slowly, be afraid only of standing still.
"Do not be afraid of progressing slowly, be afraid only of standing still." - Chinese Proverb
Yes, sorry but I never got around to posting my exercises yesterday -- but I DID do them
Day 14 (yesterday) Nice Legs, Tight Buttocks (lawls) "Sumo" knee bends (hehe): 3 sets/15 reps with 5 lbs. free weights Hip Extensor Kicks: 3 sets/15 reps (hard for me!) Stretch: Hamstring Extension
Day 15 (today) Attractive Shoulders and a Trim Waistline Shoulder Rotations: 3 sets/10 reps with 5 lb free weights (very hard to do 10) Hand to Foot Knee Bends: 3 sets/10 reps Belly Tightener stretch
Why am I doing this again? I want to be healthy. If I lose weight, or tone down, or a mixture of the both, I'd be happy. I know after these 30 days I'll most likely want to continue exercising. I'm just so amazed that this way of thinking (30 days and no more) has motivated me to do exercises!

Zomgwoot & soda
I went to Meijer a while ago and bought some food for my time at home here, and I also decided to buy 5 pound dumbells/free weights/watever they are called. The 3 pound ones aren't making my muscles fail at the ends of the exercises I use them with so hey, thats good to move up to heavier weights!
I really want to stop drinking pop, but its soooo hard! Harder even than making a habit out of exercising, sad as that sounds.

13th day
13th day of exercises. I did today what I should have done yesterday (but I was at the hotel for work yesterday).
Biceps, triceps Concentration curls: 3 sets/15 reps Chair dips: 3 sets/9 (at most) reps triceps extension
It feels as though my right bicep did a lot more work, and my wrists hurt from the dips. XD I could only do 6 at east set of dips, the last set I was able to do 9. Those are hard! But not as bad as pushups I guess haha...

12th day
This day actually called for biceps and tricep exercises, but I'm at the hotel in St. Louis for work, so I skipped to a previous day to do leg & butt exercises (since they don't call for free weights! I'm so not packing those for my work trips lawls).
Nice Legs - Tight Buttocks Sitting Leg Kicks: 3 sets/15 reps Butt Lift: 3 sets/15 reps Quadriceps stretch
Weird, I'm almost halfway through the month now! I've never worked out so much in my life before this. Its crazy!
Now I've got to get ready for work XD

Grocery shopping
As you know (or may not know...?) I work onboard Amtrak trains. I work on a corridor train, which means it doesn't go very far. I'm gone for what amounts to two full days almost exactly. I'll leave here at noon to go to Chicago to report for work, and I'll get home not tomorrow, but the day after at about noon. I go grocery shopping for my trip, because the food I sell on the train is right nasty! I think next time I'll be sure to eat breakfast before I go...Because I spent roughly $40.00 on food for these work-days! Uggh! Not that I can't afford it but damn. Eating healthy is expensive! lols. Which is sad because I usually make sure to eat very healthy/well on the train and when I'm at home its as though "anything goes".
I think the next 30 day experiment will focus on a new, healthier diet. Yeah, sounds like a plan! Maybe I'll start that on the 3rd week of my exercise experiment, because of course I'm sure that would help out a lot with fat loss!

11th day
Shoulders & waist
Frontal Raises: 3 sets/15 reps 3lb free weight Lateral Bends: 3 sets/15 reps 3lb free weight "Preventing a stiff neck" stretch
I had done 20 crunches (10 front and 10 back) when I realized that the lateral bends worked my abs (which was why I was hurting more than usual, lols) so I didn't do any more crunches today.
Got on the scale this morning and it said I was 147 lbs :\ I'm hoping that is just because of my period, tmi sorry but *shrugs*

10th day
10 days down, just 20 more to go. Seems like a lot...But then again, it doesn't either.
Chest & Back "Office" push-ups: 3 sets/10 reps (inclined against a table) Inclined rowing (sitting position): 3 sets/10 reps 3 lb. weights Standing chest stretch 60 crunches total
My writs rather hurt from the pushups, but I expect that is normal when you aren't used to doing them. I was able to do about 7 in a row before I had to take a break each set. I think thats pretty good lawls.

O rly?
I've spent the better part of the week cleaning. Not in the windexing and dusting sense; in the de-cluttering and putting-things-in-boxes sense. Now, unless you are my boyfriend or my family you really can't comprehend the amount of STUFF I've had in my apartment. I'm a messy girl!
The only things in my bedroom are: my bed (which may get sold to my mom's BF lawls that sounds funny), a small 3-shelf rolling cart, a thin couch table, the two cat carriers, and my grandma's dresser. Nothing in the closets. NOTHING ELSE.
In the bigger bedroom is my computer desk sans computer, the long and low dresser without its drawers, some misc. bullshit and a crockpot. Nothing in the closets. lol.
Still some stuff in the big storage closet (inside) my apartment but its mostly stuff to be thrown away, same goes for the linen closet. The bathroom of course still have all the necesseties.
The hallway is lined with bags of stuff to be donated to Goodwill.
The dining/living area is a bit of a shambles. There are 8 or 9 bins full of my books and "stuff" I don't want to part with, my work-related stuff is on the floor, along with my shoes (I honestly didn't know I had so many -- I usually only wear my work shoes and my "V" shoes). There are various knick-knacks covering my dining table (the stuff that would break), and a few full garbage bags.
I've done so much! I'm almost ready to move all this shit out of here whee!

Size 8 Pants
So, I fit into most size 8 pants. I had tried on a few jeans at Kohl's a few days ago. One pair of pants I tried on didn't fit, but all the other size 8's did. Needless to say, it excited me. Last year I was up to 167 pounds, at about size 13 then, but got down to where I am now by the use of dieting pills.
WHICH I WILL NEVER X 10,000 DO AGAIN. And I do not advocate any sort of dieting pills for anyone else either! I stopped taking them after I started feeling my heart/chest area being "squeezed". I described the feelings and people told me it sounded like asthma attacks. Well honestly, I have never had asthma so I immediately stopped taking those pills, and the symptoms went away.
Ahem. Anyways, I never gained that weight back at least
On to what I was writing. Already I see that my waist/abs are smaller. Strangely enough, my biceps are bigger slightly as well!

9th day
Its getting harder to type with these fake nails on ~ lol! Completed my 9th day of exercise, and boy did I sweat during this work out.
"Nice legs - tight buttocks" (lols!) Lunges: 3 sets/15 reps (each leg) Thigh Toner: 3 sets/15 reps (each leg) Crunches: 2 sets/10 reps Abductor stretch
I couldn't do so many crunches, I think because I was working my abs out during those lunges...Either way, I hurt! lol.
I don't know if I've posted this, but I'm set to move out of my apartment here on the 31st. Yesterday I went through "bins" of stuff -- basically, stuff I've never unpacked and haven't used in a long time -- and threw out about 10 13-gallon-garbage bags full of stuff. I was so happy with myself! I've a problem with hoarding "stuff", but I think I'll be bringing back less stuff to my mom's house than I left with. The only problem I'm having is figuring out where to throw out my furniture. I don't need it, its quite a few years old and I doubt anyone would even want it for free!

I woke up originally around 8:30am, but I kept turning the alarm on my [new] phone off. But hey, at least I know the alarm will wake me up -- seeing as though I use my phone alarm when I'm on the road to wake up.
Finished my 8th day of exercising. They were exercises for my biceps and triceps. Arm lifts (3 sets of 15 reps) and standing back kicks (3 sets of 10 reps), along with biceps and wrist flexor extensions for the stretch. And of course the obligatory crunches/reverse crunches 3 sets of 10 reps each.

It's dusty!
music: Lucky
mood: Energized
I'm currently going through the crap in my bigger bedroom. First off I disconnected my desktop computer and brough all its various parts into the living room. I had intended on bringing it over to my mom's house tonight, but I may save that for tomorrow. I have a few bins of stuff in here too. I'm currently going through them and throwing more stuff out. Most is going out into the trash, but I'm also setting some stuff aside to donate to the Salvation Army. Not much, just a tennis racket that I've NEVER used, a huge-ginormus peice of rolling luggage, and a black purse so far.
Most of my "stuff" and books are actually going in to storage, so I want to make sure I want to save the stuff I'm going to stow away, and get rid of the rest. The less to move out, the better.
It was cute too, somehow a fly got into my apartment, and the cats were having a ball chasing it around -- because the dumbassed thing stayed way close to the ground. I wonder if one of the cats ate it? Hmm. I haven't heard a fly buzzing around in a while..
I'm tempted to take a break and actually do another work-out, but I'm not sure if that is wise to do two workouts a day yet

1/4 of the month down!
music: null
mood: excited
I completed my 7th day of working out this morning. It really is hard to imagine that I've done it 7 days in a row now. Yeah, as I said previously its not a whole lot of exercise, but its something, and it does make me work so I think it is well worth it. I think once the second week comes around and I'm more used to working out daily, I'll do these exercises twice a day.
Today I did shoulder flexes, and that one was rough. This one exercised the muscles near the shoulder joint kinda underneath the arm. I could barely get to 10 on each side XD Then I did oblique curls, and those were easier. Since I did those I didn't do the crunches, but I may do more of those later in the day.

Day 6
Day 6 of exercises completed! I can't believe that I've worked out every day for almost a week. I waited until later in the night to work out, but hey, at least I got it done right? Today was dumbell presses with the 3 pound free weights I previously bought, lateral pulls and sitting lateral stretches...Along with 60 crunches - 30 regular and 30 reverse crunches. Almost 1/4 of the way through my 30 days! I'm excited.

Day 5
I realize that I didn't update yesterday XD I'm trying to update every day now, at least as far as my exercising is concerned. I did exercise yesterday in the morning, so that was day 5, and since I can't sleep because of the assholes downstairs in the restaurant (I'm at Ed's place) are being so obnoxiously loud -- I may just do my exercises in a bit here if I can't fall back to sleep soon.
In my search for a new layout for my website (veriria.com/rubberhouse.net), I've come across sooo many other websites that offer so much in the way of designs! I've never seen so many sites, since website directories don't seem to have catagories for such a thing. Why the hell not?? lol! But in any case, I've found numerous layouts which I just love, it shall be hard to choose which one I'd like to use.
I've actually been thinking of buying a new domain name to point to my website as well. I wouldn't get rid of the two I already own, I'd just have the new one point to my main site as well. I was thinking of something along the lines of exercise/fitness, along with the "30 day" thing. Or something about wanting to become a Marine. I want the site to document my path to getting in shape, articles on the subject and other such stuff. It would be a nice little project and would at least be something constructive to do!
I gotta get cracking on getting crap out of my apartment...I am officially out on the 31st! Its so nice to know that when the 1st comes around, I won't have to pay rent...XD

4th day!
I woke up at about 8:45 am, did my business and checked my mail while waiting to wake up, and then I did my exercises! Today was 3 sets of 15 reps each of concentration curls, and then one-armed pushups -- THOSE were hard! I could only do 5 at each set...So in addition to the three sets of that (lol) I tried regular pushups as well. I can't do many of those either :\ Ah well! Also did tricep extention stretches, and 30 crunches (or really rather 60, I did regular and reverse crunches).
I think crunches will be a daily thing.
One of the last remaining lights blew out during the night, so I went to replace it...And tried every bulb I had bought, but still the light won't work. Weird! And yes, I DO have power haha.

Tired
Just got back from work today. I got about three hours of sleep last night at the hotel (which is the norm for that second night out on the train trip) but I still fell asleep almost right when I got home, and I'm only just truly awake now at 7:30 pm. I was supposed to see Zero today but I am just going to take it easy around my apartment. Maybe clean more...I made a mess of what I had previously cleaned! lol.
Didn't do my exercises this morning. I couldn't see waking up any earlier than 3 am what with only getting three hours of sleep. I DID, however, just finish up my exercises just now. I like the idea of doing them in the mornings, or at least on a near-empty stomach. I gotta say that I am rather proud of myself, only if I've done it three days in a row.

Day 2
So I woke at my normal time for this work day (6 am) and did my exercises. Whoopedy do, two days in a row The question is, will I stick with it? I hope so. It's more than I've done in a long time.
I did two sets of pushups, not regular pushups but something like incline-pushups while holding onto a table. They were still hard for me! Also something called "hands and knees" hehe. Its where you lift your left arm and right lefter simultaneously and then bring them back to touch the elbow and knee, and the opposite of course as well. I also added in crunches for good measure, haha. Rather proud of myself for actually doing the exercises.
Veriria on 03.07.07 @ 07:37 AM CST [link]
Stuff
We got in late to the hotel here in St. Louis, so I'm a little peeved...Although I'm not sure how its going to be tomorrow, either...At least the trains today weren't doing well. I hope the freights let up when I'm at work tomorrow.
Odd as it may sound, I didn't get much sitting done at work as it was fairly busy, but when I got to the hotel and went to sit down I noticed my thighs ache a bit. Must have done something right in exercising
Not a long entry. Tomorrow I'm going to try to stick to the plan, and exercise when I first wake up. If for some reason that doesn't happen, I'll do it on the break between trains tomorrow.
Haven't had any problems with the new nails either, for which I am quite grateful. These buggers can hurt quite a bit when pushed the wrong way!
Read an interesting article about how my generation is becoming quite narsissistic when it comes to their web presence. More thoughts on this subject to follow when I am more lucid.

Holy Crap Exercise??
Yes, indeed. I made myself get out of bed a bit earlier than normal and did all the day 1 exercises in this book, the 28 Day Fitness Program. I like it because it all about getting exercise done in 10 minutes a day. I know thats hardly the recommended amount of aerobic and strength training recommended daily, but you've got to start somewhere, right?
Instead of staying committed from here on out, I'm doing it as a "30 day experiment", and this book is going to be my guide since it goes from day 1 to day 28 (and I'll just add in two days haha!). After the 30 days, I'll quit (if I feel like it) without any regret. I can even do this stuff at the hotel since it doesn't need any equipment (other than your body lol).
Today I did 3 sets of squats at 15 reps each. Also something they've labeled Power Butt lols!!! That was a challenging exercise though (and I also hope I did it right...). Then some bent-knee stretches. My calves and the backs of my thighs do burn a bit.
Like I said, its not much...But more than I'm used to! And surprisingly...I do feel like I've an extra kick of energy...

bras!
Yes, thats right...I got a new bra. !!! TMI perhaps, but damn it feels so much better than my old bra (for daily wear I only have one bra, so its continually being washed...lol). Funny that, this bra is bigger But I LOST weight!
I'm confused on that one.
I also got fake nails put on again. Makes me feel pretty XD What with the fake nails, blonde-ish hair, and jeans I recently aquired at Kohl's (in previous pursuit of a bra that actually fits), I must say I look quite "prep" like. The jeans I bought are both size 8's. I'm excited that I can fit into 8's. They are a big snug, but I hope to lose weight. Yes, for once in my life, I'm optimistic.
I bought a book that shows you how to work out each day for 28 days...I also read a website that said basically "You can do anything for 30 days straight, because after those 30 days you can tell yourself you'll quit -- but after 30 days you might develop a habit, so it will benefit you either way!". Or something like that, its from one of those random motivational websites. Either way, I need to get some motivation to start working out, because I've had a gym membership for far too long without using it. Even if I don't go to the gym more than once or twice a week, if I can do these workouts every day at home/at the hotel, at least that's SOMETHING.

money money money
So yes, as previously stated, I got my income tax return and I'm excited to be paying off my credit card bills. As much as I'd like to just go crazy and throw all that money at the credit cards, I think I'm going to pay them off over a period of 1 month. I'm not scared that I'll blow the money sitting in my bank account on anything, since I rarely go out and spend my money on crap anymore. I only do that with the tips I make on the train lol
So for this week, I made a payment in the amount of 1/4 of each credit card bill (there are three) for a total of $433.55, and will do so every Sunday for a month. That won't get rid of the debt entirely, but after one month of paying each credit off another 1/4 of the current balance, the total accumulated debt will go from $1754.25 to $557.27 left to pay off.
I'll still have my car to pay off, as well as my computer, but getting rid of these credit card payments will enable me to aggressively pay off both those bills...And then I'll have nothing, because I'm "moving back in" with my mom. I'm going to save soo much money, it will be awesome.

Money
Oh, I'm excited. I got my income tax refund! Not that I'm going to, you know, get to spend this money on anything grand, or be able to keep it for any length of time...I'm going to use it to [finally] pay off my credit cards. I'll still have my car to pay off, and my computer...And some money owed to my dad and my aunt. But I plan on aggressively paying those off once I'm out of my apartment. Less bills = more money! Always a good thing.

Stuff.
I keep feeling like I'm not getting a whole lot of time off work, but I know I waste my time doing unproductive stuff too. And when I do go to work, I'm home again just a day and a half later...So its not like I'm gone long either. I just can't be happy with my job, can I?
Last month in the apartment...I got to get rid of shit. Like, big stuff -- furniture I'll no longer need, perhaps throw some more of my "stuff" out as well. I still make a mess, but its work stuff...As soon as I get home from trips, its as though my backpack explodes all over the living room (haha).
But I definately got to get things done. I'm going to see if I can somehow manage a list of things "To Do" on my trip here if it isn't too busy.
